Homeopathy

….. natural medicine that strengthens the body's healing systems to restore a state of good health

WHAT IS HOMEOPATHY?

Homeopathy is a safe and effective system of natural medicine. It has been used by millions of people worldwide for over 200 years. Homeopathic medicines are prepared from natural sources and are used extremely diluted, non-toxic amounts. Homeopathic remedies can be safely used with infants, children, and adults.

Most diseases, both acute and chronic, are curable with homeopathy. Homeopathy treats disorders affecting every system and organ of the body. Homeopathic treatment can be used to treat physical conditions, and also emotional conditions such as depression and anxiety.

Homeopathy is safe for infants, children, adults, seniors, and women during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Homeopathy is not naturopathy or herbal medicine. It is a unique system of medicine developed by a German physician named Samuel Hahnemann in the early 1800s.

Homeopathic remedies are used throughout the world, particularly in Europe, Australia, South America, and India. In England, where homeopathy is well recognized and respected, the Royal Family retains the services of a homeopathic physician. There are five homeopathic hospitals in the United Kingdom, and homeopathy is the most popular post-graduate medical course. In Germany, where homeopathy originated, it is required study in medical school and there are over 6,000 homeopaths. In France, 40% of physicians practice homeopathy or refer patients to a homeopath. In India, there are over 100,000 homeopathic physicians, and Mother Teresa used homeopathic medicines in her hospital in Calcutta.

The World Health Organization has cited homeopathy as a system of medicine that should be integrated worldwide with conventional medicine.

It is estimated that over 500 million people around the world have received homeopathic treatment.

In North America, homeopathy has been experiencing a resurgence of interest, and there are now many homeopathic students and practitioners. Many medical doctors have chosen to study and practice homeopathy.

Homeopathic medicines are prepared from natural sources and are used in extremely small amounts. They are non-toxic, and when properly administered by a professional homeopath, they can be safely used with infants, children, and adults.

The effectiveness of homeopathy in treating a wide variety of health conditions has been demonstrated by two hundred years of clinical experience, and also by research studies published in medical journals such as The Lancet and The British Medical Journal.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Homeopathic medicines strengthen and stimulate the body's natural healing systems.

Conventional medicine tends to suppress symptoms rather than creating a curative response. Homeopathy works to cure the underlying disease rather than simply suppressing the symptoms.

A central principle of homeopathic practice is that the mind, body, and emotions are interconnected and influence each other. The human body functions as a system and not as a collection of separate parts.

HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINES

There are over 2,500 different homeopathic medicines, each with its own pattern of symptoms. The sources of these medicines are natural substances including plants, minerals, and animal substances. Homeopathic medicines must be accurately selected in order to be effective.

Medicines are prepared in a homeopathic pharmacy through a process of dilution and succussion. The dilution of the medicines with water makes each dose extremely small and non-toxic. In fact all that remains of the original substance is purely the vibration. This vibratory aspect of homeopathy is what provides the healing aspect and the saying – "homeopathy works by treating like with like".

An example of this is homeopathic coffea. Coffee keeps people awake, homeopathic coffee (coffea) is given to those who have trouble with insomnia to improve their chances of sleep.
