The information contained in this site is from a variety of sources including G.R.A.S.P who have given us permission to use and edit their articles to stay relevant with current treatment and knowledge. Please see the source/author for each article, and be aware that many will have been written by parents from their own experience.
The information provided on this site should also be considered to support and complement the relationship that exists between a patient and their physician, but not replace it. Information contained here is intended for New Zealand residents, but may be useful for residents of other countries. Please be aware that medication contents and names may differ in other countries, as may recommended treatment.
The original msn website "Infant Gastric Reflux Stories (NZ)" was created in March 2002 when the need for a permanent place for information became apparent to back up the reflux discussion board at "everybody" which had commenced in October 2001. In August 2003 IGRS became part of the Gastric Reflux Support Network New Zealand for Parents of Infants and Children Charitable Trust (GRSNNZ).
February 2004 GRSNNZ registered their own domain name and IGRS moved to www.cryingoverspiltmilk.co.nz making access easier and the address easily remembered by any parent of a baby with gastric reflux. The website has now been renamed Crying Over Spilt Milk to bring it into line with the web address, and is easily recognised by our baby crying over his/her bottle of spilt milk. Our discussion board remains at "everybody" and Crying Over Spilt Milk also now hosts some forums for more specific needs.
Crying Over Spilt Milk is mostly operated on a voluntary basis, but GRSNNZ is partially funded by the Lottery Grants Board. Some advertisements are provided for members' benefits and in reciprocal agreements. Crying Over Spilt Milk is an affiliate of Baby Universe and as such will receive commission if purchases are made by referral from this website or our newsletters.
G.R.A.S.P ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Gastric Reflux Association For The Support Of Parents/Babies (GRASP) was a support group that has ceased to operate and was a great source of information and support from people who had experience in this area. When GRASP closed in May 2001 they forwarded a pack to health professionals to help them support and inform families with babies/children with gastro-oesophageal reflux. GRSNNZ has since taken over some of the previous role of GRASP.
